Jokes on Me

April Fool’s Day means that third graders will have a field day playing pranks on other school kids. But at some point, they must grow out of this, don’t you think? I mean, what kind of adult goes around playing pranks on other people?

logarithm

This is the logarithm for calculating the intensity of an earthquake. This logarithm was used to determine the Richter Scale of an earthquake, which is no longer used by geologists. Now they use a slightly different method, called magnitude.

The old saying that I grew up with was that if March comes in “like a lion” then it will “go out like a lamb.”

What I was neverĀ  on was if that meant the first day of the month only, or does it mean the majority of the days in the first week or so?

This year we had a cold and rainy day on March 1 and then the next 5 days have been gorgeous mild weather. So I wonder what that means for the end of the month?

End of Winter

February is my favorite month of the year – it is the shortest one. It is also the last month of deep winter. Next month we will have some warmer days and the first signs of Spring.

I think we also set the clocks forward an hour to take advantage of an early Daylight Savings Time. It used to happen in April, but I’m pretty sure they moved it to March now.

Mr Groundhog, please forecast an early Spring for us. I can’t bear much more of these bitter cold and snowy days. I need sunshine and warmth!
